Ingredients:
* 1-1/4 tsp. Butter (Unsalted)
* 1-1/2 large Sweet Onions, sliced * 4 oz. Swiss Cheese, shredded * 4 slices Italian bread * 1 tablespoon and 1-3/4 tsp. Butter (Unsalted), softened * 4 T. Heavy Cream * 3/8 (10.75 ounce) can condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup * 1-1/4 tsp. Soy Sauce * 1/8 tsp. Salt (Iodized OK, but Sea Salt or Rock Salt preferred) * Ground Black Pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt Butter and saute Onions until translucent. Transfer Onions to an accommodating casserole dish and sprinkle cheese over Onions.
2. Spread Butter on both sides of the bread, then lay the bread over the cheese. 3. In a medium bowl combine Milk, Soup, Soy Sauce, Salt and Pepper. 4. Mix well and pour over Bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. 5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 6. Bake in pre-heated oven for 40 minutes. |
